Background
I prefer rss feeds for gathering most of the information I consume daily (e.g. news, xkcd articles, updates on applications, craig’s list searches, etc.). I like to have a rss reader all day for quick/easy access to the latest information; however, most rss readers take entirely too much resources to leave running all day for this simple task. This spawned my search for a light rss reader which brought me to newsbeuter.
